This is small controlled band ("Narrowband") UVB light used for the treatment of psoriasis, vitiligo (pigment loss), atopic dermatitis, and other skin conditions. The treatment usually lasts from one to several minutes depending on the skin type and duration of treatment. For significant improvement it is necessary to have sessions twice a week for 4-6 weeks at least, which may not be suitable for all the patients. However, therapy does not require any systemic medications, and it is usually well tolerated.
